COVID-19

To protect the safety of our patients and staff during the current outbreak of COVID-19, we have taken the decision to suspend all but emergency dental care across our dental practices.

Routine dental appointments will be cancelled. If you require emergency treatment please call your practice on 01977 552670 who will advise you what to do.

Your safety, and that of our team is our top priority, so please do not attend practices in person for any reason unless you are asked to do so.

The Hygienist

OUR HYGIENISTS

Our hygienists are passionate about promoting excellent oral health, scaling and polishing and teaching our patients good oral hygiene techniques, if  gum disease and tooth decay are not to progress to more serious problems. A clean and healthy mouth will help to improve your self-confidence and it will also give you fresh breath. We also provide stain removal, whitening and dietary advice.

PLAQUE AND PERIODONTAL DISEASE
Plaque is the name given to a film of bacteria which is constantly forming on all the teeth. Plaque causes dental caries (decay) and periodontal disease. Everyone’s saliva contains millions of bacteria, these bacteria stick to the surface of our teeth and quickly multiply to form layers of plaque. Plaque is a soft, colourless substance which is difficult to see until the coating is quite thick. It collects on the surface of the teeth mainly next to the gums and between the teeth. Our hygienists will remove plaque and help you maintain good oral health.
Direct Access - Our Dental Hygienists and Dental Therapists are permitted to treat patients without a prior examination by a dentist. This means that we can now welcome patients who only want to see our Dental Hygienist without having to have an examinationby the Dentists beforehand. If our Dental Hygienist or Dental Therapist feel that you would benefit from a dental examination by a dentist, you will be advised of this.
